This is my first semester fully using LLMs to teach myself concepts. I use it to study mainly for my electromagnetic fields class. I usually don’t listen in class, so I just study for the exams on my own. To study, I learn the concept first, then do practice problems. I put the recommended practice problems in ChatGPT and tell it to explain it line by line. And it does so pretty well. Anything I don’t understand, I tell it to explain like I’m five years old, and I always understand. Nowadays in school, there is nothing I can’t understand unless I choose not to. I never feel anxious skipping/missing a class anymore because I can learn it on my own. The only benefit of going to class now is to know what the professor deems as important so I can practice extra hard on that. I’m looking forward to seeing how schools will adapt as LLMs become better. I feel unstoppable, I can basically learn anything with ease. I don’t have to watch YouTube videos and try to skip to the important part. I don’t need to click on 1001 links to get what I’m looking for. I don’t have to read a whole chapter of a textbook to understand the only thing that is lacking in my understanding. My learning is now tailored for me!
